The Farm Community Kitchen

The Farm Community Kitchen CIC is a community café that provides low cost tasty and nutritious cooked meals to those who would otherwise go without. These can be enjoyed in the café in the company of others, or delivered to the home to be frozen and then heated in the microwave. Customers are asked to pay what they can. The Farm aims to support people struggling with the high cost of food. Referrals come to them via various sources, including social prescribing.
Many of their meals are created from surplus food sourced from local businesses and from households. Deliveries are made on foot or by bike, and meals are packed in paper bags. Coffee grounds are passed on to local gardeners for compost. The Farm also facilitates the rehousing of small appliances and other items within the community.
The Farm sells coffee, pastries, cake and bread as well as breakfasts and lunches, providing financial support to their other activities.
Pop in, email or call them if you are in need of a bespoke service to help tackle the increasing demand of food costs.
All staff are volunteers, many of whom have learning difficulties. Working at the Farm helps to build confidence and may lead to employment elsewhere, with support given to learn skills and create a CV.
They warmly welcome any volunteers to help run the cafe or support with deliveries or collections, please visit their website to sign up as a volunteer. Donations of food are also welcome. The website provides the opportunity to financially donate a one off or sign up for a monthly donation.
