Leytonstone Library of Things

Leytonstone Library of Things is part of a part of a growing network of tool sharing libraries launched by Library of Things in London and beyond. The social enterprise is on a mission to encourage and enable people to rent tools and other objects at a reasonable rate, rather than buying them new and then rarely using them. A new drill, for example, may only be used for 3 minutes a year! Borrowing rather than buying saves people money whilst at the same time conserving natural materials and reducing carbon emissions.
Located on the ground floor of Leytonstone Library, the local branch is a partnership between the Library of Things and Waltham Forest Council. Items that can be borrowed include, for example, a carpet cleaner, drill, a pressure washer, a folding trolley, a tent, a projector, a party kit and a sewing machine. They also have a 25% off concession rate for anyone who needs it.
