British Heart Foundation

This charity shop sells mainly furniture and electrical goods, with 90% of the stock being secondhand. For smaller items most customers bring their own bags, but for others they sell biodegradable bags. All secondhand items are donated locally. Packaging is avoided except for mattresses, which are covered in plastic for reasons of hygiene. Cardboard boxes are re-used when possible.
Staff are careful in their use of electricity and are made aware of this as part of their training. Most live locally and travel to work by public transport, walking, or electric scooter!
