Transition Leytonstone’s Great Get Together will take place in our Community Garden in Harold Road, next to the footbridge over the Central Line, nestling opposite the children’s play area. What I love about Great Get Together is its sheer simplicity — it’s about getting together with your community, mixing with different generations and cultures to have meaningful conversations with others. We share our stories, our love of food and our community. It’s a really positive event that brings people together: friendships grow, new ideas form and blossom. Please join us on June 24h and bring along family, friends, and one of your favourite dishes (preferably veggie) to the feast. There will be 2 BBQs going, one veggie, one meat. Tea, coffee and some soft drinks will be provided. As usual, we want to make this a Zero Waste event, which means avoiding disposable paper plates and cups – so please help us by bringing your own crockery. The feast will be followed by our (not boring) AGM. All are invited to stay on, hear what we’ve been up to, what we’re working on – and – best of all – offer your ideas/support for future projects.
