Over 300 books have at last been catalogued, shelved and stamped with Transition Leytonstone’s skylark logo, and our library is ready to open.

All our books relate to sustainability and cover a wide range of topics, from economics to education, gardening to waste. They include classics such as Silent Spring and Small is Beautiful, as well as books which are hot, or at least warm, off the press such as Kate Raworth’s Doughnut Economics and Charles Eisenstein’s Climate; A new story.

We also have an almost complete set of Permaculture Magazine, going back to Autumn 1992.

The library will be open on the first and third Friday of each month, from 11am – 1pm, and 2 – 4pm, then on the Sunday of the same week, from 11am – 1pm. Starting on 2ndNovember.It is located at a private address in Leytonstone. Please email if you would like to join, and you will be given the address.
